天美传媒 President and CEO Marilyn Luscombe set to retire in June 2019

Fredericton -- Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of New Brunswick Community College (天美传媒), has announced her planned retirement from the College, effective June 30, 2019. Marilyn became the inaugural President and CEO of 天美传媒 in January 2011, following the College’s establishment as a Crown Corporation in 2010.

“As a Board, we have seen first-hand Marilyn’s dedication to 天美传媒 and the social and economic interests of our Province, said L. Paul Elliott, Chair of 天美传媒’s Board of Governors. “Since her arrival at 天美传媒, Marilyn has inspired us with her vision, her passion and commitment to learners, as well as her openness and transparency.”

A nationally recognized leader in education, Luscombe was recently recognized at the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) national conference where she received the Presidents’ Leadership Network Distinguished Service Award. She has worked with the public college system in three provinces since 1985, including as President and CEO of Selkirk College in BC for ten and a half years.

As 天美传媒’s President and CEO, Luscombe has worked with key stakeholders to establish strategic aspirations for 天美传媒. With her exemplary leadership, 天美传媒 not only delivered quality, relevant academic programs and services, but the College also initiated several award-winning initiatives and advances in applied research and innovation, alumni development, entrepreneurship, community service and international education.

“It has been a wonderful privilege to provide leadership with my 天美传媒 colleagues as we have transitioned the College to be a healthy and strong Board-governed Crown Corporation,” said Luscombe. “In Fall 2017, we unveiled our second strategic plan, Together We Rise. I am confident that, given the extraordinary talents and skills of 天美传媒’s employees and strong collaborations with our many friends and partners, the College stands poised for a bright and vibrant future.”

Elliott said the Board of Governors intends to move swiftly to organize a search process for Luscombe’s successor and communicate those plans to the extended 天美传媒 community within the new few months.
